It might, but you’d have to look at the manufacturer’s directions. It’s not as natural so it’s not something we have experience formulating with.

I would like to know what you recommend please. And also a substitute for the jojoba oil since the one on the link shows out of stock on Amazon.

Vitamin E is not a broard-spectrum preservative it simply extends the shelf life of oils. Since this product has water in it vitamin E won’t prevent microbe growth.

Emulsifying wax is cetostearyl alcohol, which is commonly used in shampoo and conditioners. It’s not the same as beeswax, candelilla wax, etc.

If using a different preservative you would need to know what percentage it should be used at and what pH value it works with. You’ll also need to know if it’s oil soluble or water soluble so you know if it should be added to the water or oil phase. You should be able to get that information from the manufacturer.

Different hair types respond differently to natural haircare products so it’s hard to say. You could try replacing the argan oil with castor oil which is more drying.

Without the preservative it should last about 1 week in the refrigerator. And it’s not a conditioner, but Katie has an herbal vinegar hair rinse here. https://wellnessmama.com/beauty/herbal-hair-rinse/

If you don’t want to use a preservative then this should last for about a week if stored in the fridge.

The castor oil doesn’t need diluted further in this recipe, it can just be used instead of the argan oil.

The conditioner shouldn’t be lumpy, so it sounds like something didn’t go right when making it. It’s hard to say without knowing exactly how you made it. If you’ve been using conventional hair care products though it can take a while for the chemical buildup to wear off. A clay detox can help speed up the process. Here’s how to do one! https://wellnessmama.com/beauty/detox-your-hair/

I made this and when I used it this morning it was lumpy. It didn’t make my hair feel like other conditioners, and felt tangled, not smooth as I was expecting.
It didn’t feel like a conditioner.
Is this normal for the recipe?
What can I use to make my hair feel silky and tangle free in the shower?

I haven’t tried it, but it might work. It’s generally recommended to use it at .1-.5% of the product.
