I would love to know where you stand on this too Katie. I thought I finally had my ‘health plan’ figured out after learning about, and reading up on the Blue Zones and Valter Longo and Stephen Simpson’s research. Then I listened to this podcast and the high-protein concept made sense to me too! It’s so overwhelming having all this info out there, it’s starting to hurt my head!

It doesn’t contain a full range of amino acids, so it isn’t technically a complete protein source. I split the difference and don’t count it toward my protein total but do count the amino acids proline and glycine in it.

Were the protein sources she mentioned in a day ALL she was eating? Or was that along with other fruit and vegetables.

Do you agree with her on that and can you elaborate.

I just logged Gabrielle’s daily meals into the cronometer. She was vague but I approximated in the best way I could from her description of:
Breakfast: 5 eggs and a little avocado
Lunch: bone marrow
Dinner: ribeye
Additional 5 oz proteins,
Cilantro and cooked vegetables.

Calories: 1545
Proteins: 99g
Carbs: 6g
Fats: 135g
This looks like a ketogenic, nearly carnivore diet.
In the podcast she recommended about 40g of carbs per meal (90-120g daily).

No criticism, just an observation.

Here’s just one article on the studies: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/273533#High-protein-diet-had-highest-risk,-except-in-older-adults

How old is Gabrielle? Based on her photo, I would guess she’s 50, due to lots of crows feet and a slight fake ‘filler and botox’ look. If she’s much older than 50, then I would say she looks great for her age. But if she’s in her 40’s, then I would say she looks older than her age and I would not be inclined to follow her diet suggestions. So please tell me her age before I spend the time listening to this podcast. Thanks.
